Low-Level Laser Therapy

Laser Dentistry

Our mantra is for no patient to ever leave with discomfort. Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is another complimentary service we provide to aid in patient comfort.

Low-Level Laser Therapy or photobiomodulation is the application of near infra-red laser energy over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing. Subsequently, it reduces inflammation and gives relief for both acute and chronic pain.

Low-Level Laser Therapy is used to increase the speed, quality and tensile strength of tissue repair while resolving inflammation and relieving pain (analgesia). The effects of LLLT are photochemical (like photosynthesis in plants). When the correct intensity and treatment times are performed, red and near-infrared light reduces oxidative stress.

This improves cell metabolism and reduces inflammation. Using this specialized laser delivery, we can help reduce pain and swelling. We utilize this specific technology to reduce inflammation and pain while promoting healing for pain in an injection site, oral wound, sore facial muscles, surgical sites and in any oral-facial pain.

LLLT can also aid in tooth sensitivity by sealing exposed sensitive areas (located on the root of the tooth) that are responsible for hot and cold tooth sensitivity.
